A Night of CAOS with Miguel

Grammy-award winning R&B star Miguel had Toronto fans in a frenzy on Wednesday night. The singer brought his CAOS Tour to a sold-out crowd at History, and needless to say, it was chaotic (in a good way!)

The California crooner opened the show with “Perderme,” a Spanish track from his fifth studio album, CAOS. The record is described as having a dark, moody vibe—far from the R&B sound we’ve come to know him for. His stage presence was immaculate, and the set design was striking; a three-dimensional sculpture and an upside-down vehicle elevated the show’s atmosphere.

With his smooth vocals and effortless charisma, Miguel kept the crowd’s energy going from start to finish. Early favourites like “coffee” and “Simple Things” thrilled the fans, but the singer also took a moment to address ICE, and the current political climate. “Shout out all of Canada, for always being a haven for slaves and Indigenous people for centuries long,” he said while spray-painting “ICE OUT” on the side of the upside-down car. He then proceeded to prompt the crowd to chant “Fu*k ICE” numerous times.

As the show neared its end, the opening notes of “Adorn” hit, and the crowd erupted, creating an instant wave of unity. To close the night, Miguel performed the romantic ballad “Sure Thing” from his debut album, All I Want Is You.

Miguel’s CAOS tour stop in Toronto was more than a concert. It was an intimate evening in which the singer connected with the audience and delivered the vocals and visuals fans had been expecting.

The North American leg wraps up in Houston on March 21, and the European / U.K. leg kicks off in Manchester on April 13. For more information, visit Miguel’s official website.
