British singer-songwriter Lewis Fitzgerald continues his rise with his latest offering “Teannah,” out today via Relentless Records. Showcasing Lewis’ unique soulful vocals over an afrobeat-inspired production, “Teannah” is a feel-good end-of-summer single that has already gained traction online with teasers streamed over 3 million times.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Lewis shares, “I wrote this song in the studio the day after meeting a girl called Teannah, at a time I thought no one could turn my head because I was so focused on my music and bettering myself. Everyone has their own Teannah out there; that person who comes along when you least expect it.”
The track builds on the recent success of his collaboration with trailblazing Afro-fusion collective NSG on “TELL YOUR EX (WOI OI)” and the official music video, which was the first to be recorded at Stormzy’s new Soho Club Houseparty. Picking up where his previous video left off and where he first met “Teannah,” the new video follows Lewis as he prepares to meet her again, with scenes documenting this journey at various locations across London.
“Teannah” also follows other recent collaborations with notable artists like Afro-R&B sensation Libianca on “Darling”; Russ Miilions on his new album alongside Dappy, Akelle & IQ; US rapper Rxseboy; GRM Rated Award nominee Wewantwraiths, and fellow Londoner Zakhar. In addition, Lewis’ growing body of work includes other solo releases “Unlovable,” “Clarity,” and “Our House.”
Going from strength to strength, Lewis’ fast-growing dedicated online fanbase has earned co-signs from the likes of KISS FM, Jack Saunders, Mollie King, and Victoria Jane on Radio 1, 1Xtra, Notion, GRM, Link Up, BBC London, MTV, SBTV; and fans in Aitch, ArrDee, Sean Paul, Chris Brown, Teddy Swims, Wayne Wonder, Drift, and Dexta Daps.
After spring UK and EU dates supporting Mackenzy Mackay, this November Lewis will embark on his first-ever UK headline tour, with the first London date selling out within minutes. Due to overwhelming demand, a second London show has now been added.
With more new music on the horizon, Lewis Fitzgerald is poised to further solidify his place as one of the UK’s most promising talents to emerge in 2024.
You can find “Teannah” by Apple Music, Spotify, and other digital streaming platforms.
