Get On Up: The Legacy Edition to feature Maestro Fresh Wes, Choclair, Rascalz, Michee Mee & more on April 16

If you’re going to be in the Toronto area on April 16th and you’ve been yearning for some in-person, no-virtual, live hip-hop like we have—make sure to hit up the Phoenix Concert Theatre (410 Sherbourne St.) for Get On Up: The Legacy Edition. Presented by SFS Entertainment, the “Strictly 90’s R&B and Hip-Hop” event is billed as “shining a light on our homegrown heroes that paved the way.”

Speaking through an Instagram post to promote the event, promoter and DJ Starting From Scratch dropped some thoughts on the importance of honouring the legacy and history of the scene.

“Too often we take our homegrown heroes for granted or we just bypass them,” he wrote. “I will never let that happen. All these artists are the very reason I’m still able to do what I do, we all are a part of the fabric.”

The list of performers includes Maestro Fresh Wes, Choclair, Glenn Lewis, Rascalz, Michee Mee, Jully Black, Saukrates, and even more special guests.

But don’t get it twisted…

“This is a PARTY, not a concert,” SFS explained. “The usual amazing vibes that you’ve experienced inside every single Get On Up with some amazing performances by these legends sprinkled in the mix. This will be something special!”

Tickets to the event can be purchased through TicketGateway.
