The youngest son of legendary rapper Big Pun is gearing up for the release of his new album this coming August via Mello Music Group.
Chris Rivers, who is just a few years younger than the age Pun was when he passed away at 28, pays homage to his late father with new Richie “TriKx” Basciano-directed visuals for “Sincerely Me.”
“I want him to know that we are here, we remember him and that a legacy is being carved in my steps and there’s no better way to show all that at once with that subject matter tied to the video.” – Chris Rivers
The song will appear on Rivers’ eighth project to date, G.I.T.U. (Greatest In The Universe) which will be out on Friday, Aug. 16. The video is the first released in support of the album.
“Sincerely Me” is available on Apple Music, Spotify and various other digital streaming outlets.
Rivers’ released the new single and video with some words about the song’s inspiration:
“Sincerely Me from the beginning was a letter to my father and an homage to him. I thought to drive that message home with the video as well as give into the comparisons in embracing our similarities, it was great to remake some of his classic videos and pictures but with my own spin on it. I want him to know that we are here, we remember him and that a legacy is being carved in my steps and there’s no better way to show all that at once with that subject matter tied to the video. It’s the first video off of G.I.T.U. and I’m just so excited to give ya more.”
