Last night, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky channeled the spirit of Thanksgiving by delivering 120 meals to families at a homeless shelter in New York City.
The 17-story high-rise Regent Family Residence (part of Volunteers of America), where Rocky once lived with his mother in the early 2000s, is home to over 80 families including 111 kids.
According to TMZ, “the fact Rocky and his mother benefited from the shelter’s lifesaving services was a huge reason why he wanted to take part and give back to the place that provided them a temporary home when they needed it the most.”
TMZ also reported that the food Rocky delivered came from the popular Harlem spot Amy Ruth’s Restaurant, located on W 116th St.
Great to see people giving back to their community. Head to TMZ for photos of Rocky’s visit to the shelter.
The Regent Family Residence is part of the Volunteers of America which has provided assistance with affordable housing since 1896.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our US viewers!
