Tona Enlists Adam Bomb and Skyzoo for “Dangerous” and “FRFR”

TLDR: Tona launches Chrome Maxell with two Roho-produced singles, “Dangerous” featuring Adam Bomb and the Skyzoo-assisted “FRFR,” setting a focused tone for the upcoming album.

Toronto rapper Tona has announced his next album, Chrome Maxell, and opened the campaign with two defining singles that establish the sound and scope of the Roho-produced project. “Dangerous,” featuring Adam Bomb, and the Skyzoo-assisted “FRFR” arrive weeks apart but feel intentionally aligned, rooted in disciplined writing, cinematic production, and the kind of seasoned presence that prioritizes craft over theatrics. Exactly what Tona has come to be known for.

Released January 5, “Dangerous” reunites Tona with Adam Bomb, his Naturally Born Strangers group mate, on a track that moves like a suspense sequence. Roho’s production leans into moody strings and raw textures, the kind of backdrop that makes every bar sound heavier. It is not flashy, but it is forceful, built around presence and precision. The chemistry between Tona and Adam Bomb reads like familiarity, not nostalgia, two legendary Toronto voices locking into the same pocket and letting the beat do the dramatic talking.

“FRFR,” released February 13, brings Skyzoo into the fold for the second single off Chrome Maxell. It is the pair’s second collaboration, and it feels easy — not engineered for headlines, just two artists trading verses with purpose. Roho once again keeps the production tight and understated, giving both MCs room to breathe. It features sharp writing and measured delivery from two voices that clearly understand the importance of pacing and presence.

Tona has never been an artist chasing quick momentum. In over two decades, the Toronto MC has carved out a lane defined by steady output, a commanding baritone, and writing that reflects both his Ghanaian and Jamaican roots. A JUNO Award winner for Best Rap Recording in 2015 with Naturally Born Strangers, Tona has built his reputation on consistency and craft rather than following the latest trends.

Two singles in, Chrome Maxell is already taking shape as a focused, fully realized project, with Roho’s production and Tona’s writing locked into the same clear direction. Both songs can be found on Tona’s Bandcamp profile.
