Following the release of his critically-acclaimed single, “Last Year,” BC rapper SonReal returns with the Trevor Muzzy and Pops-produced “No More” as part of his new anti-bullying campaign.
“SonReal’s new release sees the rapper discussing the realities of online bullying and its strange dynamics coupled with an epic rolling video that speaks to the differing and sometimes surprising basis of trolling and hatred.”
To date, SonReal – born Aaron Hoffmann in Vernon, British Columbia – has racked up over 63 million video views including close too 400K on the aforementioned “Last Year,” and already close to 250K views on the latest. His most popular video to date is 2013’s “Everywhere We Go,” which has been viewed over 20M times to date.
He’s currently working with several notable producers including Kahlil (Logic, Jay-Z) and Rahki (Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q), and fresh off a European tour which brought him to countries like Germany, Belgium, and The Netherlands.
“The kind of social message and authentic voice that SonReal continues to command underlines his growing influence and the rapper seems primed for a milestone 2019.”
You can find “No More” on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify. The Jeremy Schaulin-Riox-directed video is available for viewing below. “No More” is HipHopCanada’s Song of the Day.
“It’s so easy to say things behind a keyboard and face zero consequence. It’s so easy to say what you don’t like about someone online. It’s so easy to say things we don’t even mean. What isn’t easy is shutting all that out and moving forward. This song is called ‘No More’ and this is the video.”
