Smoke Wave: Sayzee and Jamal Gasol Drop Explosive Collaboration

If you’ve been waiting for a fresh jolt of raw lyricism, Smoke Wave is here to deliver. Released on the ominous date of Friday, the 13th, Smoke Wave is the powerhouse collaboration between Canada’s Sayzee and Niagara Falls, NY’s own Jamal Gasol, showcasing their signature blend of gritty storytelling and boom-bap production. With 11 tightly crafted tracks, the album is a sonic journey through street narratives and introspective bars, anchored by hard-hitting production and unrelenting lyricism.

Smoke Wave is led by the standout single “AntiSocial,” produced by IM’PERETIV, a track that perfectly encapsulates the tone of the project: sharp, unfiltered, and unapologetic. Sayzee’s relentless flow weaves seamlessly with Gasol’s street-smart wordplay, creating a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly new. This album lands as the fourth release for Gasol in 2024, cementing his position as one of the most consistent underground artists in the game.

For Sayzee, Smoke Wave serves as a precursor to his highly anticipated YFRWN10 double album, due next month. On Friday, Sayzee previewed the project by dropping the Asun Eastwood-assisted single, “Needs & Wants.” The song sets the tone for the double album’s intricate lyricism and gritty production, with both Sayzee and Asun Eastwood delivering raw, authentic bars over a self-produced beat that blends old-school and new-age elements. YFRWN10 is set to be a groundbreaking finale, fully self produced. with Side A dropping on October 15, 2024, and Side B following on October 30, 2024.
