Rappers getting their music leaked has become nothing short of a pandemic. It’s not uncommon to see a rapper’s entire album leak before its planned date or even hundreds of their songs leaking out at once. A lot of these leaked songs end up being throwaways that the artists never planned to release in the first place, but some of them end up exploding in popularity, making their way into the mainstream despite being unreleased. Some rappers even have leaks that are among their most popular songs. In this video, I’m going to go over some of the biggest rap leaks that I believe would have been hits if they saw an official release.
To start off, I chose one of the most iconic leaks in recent memory: “Pissy Pamper.” “Pissy Pamper” is a song by Young Nudy that features Playboi Carti and is produced by Pi’erre Bourne. The song was first previewed in March 2019 by a Young Nudy affiliate on Instagram Live. The previewed snippet of Carti’s verse was quickly remastered by fans, causing the song to circulate online, with memes also playing a huge part in its spread. One particular remaster that dropped on YouTube a couple of days after the snippet surfaced got over 1.4 million views in three weeks before it was removed due to a copyright notice. What really stood out to people from the song was its heavenly sounding beat and Carti’s extra high-pitched vocal inflections that Nudy himself said sounded like a baby.
