Moka Only responds to the Snak The Ripper vs. Madchild beef

Moka Only

Canadian rap vet and former Swollen Members artist Moka Only just released a video statement (filmed by Lloyd from Canada) explaining his position on the Snak The Ripper vs. Madchild rap beef.

Mr. Mellow found himself caught in the middle of the beef when both Madchild and Snak name-dropped him in their diss tracks. On “The Funeral” Madchild insisted that Moka wanted to kick Snak’s head in. But then Snak fired back saying:

That was a lie what you said bout Moka O and Prevail/ How you like the screen shots/ Stomp you till your spleen pops.” And then Snak posted a screenshot from a conversation he had with Moka where Moka claims he didn’t want to kick Snak’s head in.

(Updated Nov. 7 at 12:23 pm: As Madchild has pointed out, Snak The Ripper did initially namedrop Moka Only in “Assisted Suicide” when he said “I feel bad for Moke and Prev/ What the f**k did you do?/ Wake up one day and decide to f**k over your crew).

Moka Only uses this video to claim his role as the ‘Peacekeeper.’ He refuses to pick sides with this beef: “They’re trying to have a good battle. So they use anything that they can in order to use as ammunition. But unfortunately, I got dragged in the middle of it.”

Call him the rap game Switzerland, if you will. Moka is one of few cats who I’ve personally never heard talk bad about anyone in the rap game. Moka is all the chill. And I think this is one of the realest responses to the beef that I’ve seen.

As Moka points out, it’s tough when it’s friends involved: “I don’t have any ill will towards Madchild. I don’t have any ill will towards Snak. I’ve tried to always be the guy that basically gets along with anybody. We’re in our 30s and 40s. I’m 41, personally. I got much bigger fish to fry than bickering with people. You know what I mean? I’d rather keep the peace and see what opportunities are down the road to do work together, or whatever.

Moka wraps the video by subtly plugging his new #HorseJazz movement. Moka has made reference to it over social media a few times. He claims he’s done with rap and he only wants to make Horse Jazz, now.

Part of me thinks this is probably a lead-up to the next Moka O project. But we’ll see what comes of that. In the meanwhile, get ready for the release of this year’s Martian Xmas project. In case you’re not familiar – Moka Only drops a Christmas project every year and it’s one of my favourite things about the holiday season. He didn’t ask me to plug that, by the way. He didn’t even ask me to post this response on HipHopCanada. I just think it’s an important seven minutes of video that y’all need to take in.
