Rapper and social media influencer KSI continues his meteoric rise with the release of the Trippie Redd-assisted music video, “Thick Of It,” which has already hit YouTube’s Trending chart. The video, directed by KC Locke, showcases KSI’s versatility, blending his YouTube origins with his current music and boxing ventures.
The Ray Michael Djan Jr.-produced track, which premiered alongside KSI’s other new single “Low,” features confident, braggadocious lyrics that highlight his journey from an internet sensation to a mainstream artist. In “Thick Of It,” KSI delivers a message of resilience and determination, with Trippie Redd’s verse further amplifying the song’s cold, confident vibe.
Fans first got a glimpse of the visuals when an image from the video shoot was leaked online, generating excitement across social media. Two days later, KSI gave fans a sneak preview during his closing performance at the Misfits and DAZN X Series 017 event in Dublin, Ireland. During the show, KSI brought Trippie Redd on stage for a live rendition of the track.
In true KSI fashion, the song’s release wasn’t without controversy. Amidst an ongoing feud with fellow YouTuber DanTDM, KSI cleverly promoted pre-saves for “Thick Of It” by issuing an “apology” to Dan. This move was met with mixed reactions, with some fans mocking the stunt and labeling parts of KSI’s verse as ‘cringey.’
Despite the drama, “Thick Of It” continues to climb the charts, marking another successful release in KSI’s evolving music career.
