Fans have been eagerly waiting on a new album from Top Dawg Entertainment signee Isaiah Rashad for almost half a decade now, but the wait is finally coming to an end. Following his June 18th single “Headshots (4r Da Locals),” Rashad took fans by surprise by announcing the official release date of his second studio album, The House is Burning.
Along with the caption: “THE HOUSE IS BURNING 7/30,” the artwork for the album was also showcased and featured a stylistic children’s drawing with crayon illustrations designed by ripism. It’s reminiscent of the artwork from the 88-Keys-produced single, “That’s Life,” featuring Mac Miller and Sia.

Fans can expect the album to be a chaotic journey with Isaiah reflecting through his personal struggles with addiction and depression from his five year hiatus.
“I just wanted this shit to sound fun,” Isaiah indicated through an interview with The FADER.
“If I’m sad, people don’t need to be able to tell. And this is probably my most depressing album.”
The House is Burning was originally announced by Rashad back in 2019 and serves as a follow up to his 2016 album, The Sun’s Tirade. That project received widespread acclaim from music critics and fans alike, with collaborations from label peers such as Kendrick Lamar, SZA, and Jay Rock. And while the label has been fairly quiet over the last couple of years, hopefully we can see more TDE releases from the rest of the roster later this year.
Rashad’s latest single is the Doechii (aka iamdoechii) and Kal Banx-assisted “Wat U Sed,” which has been streamed over 632K times on Spotify. A madebyJAMES-powered video was released in support of the single just a couple of days ago, and has already brought in over a quarter of a million views on YouTube. Check it out below.
