Ian Janes, Featured on Classified’s “Wonder,” Previews New Album With “Share” Single

Dedicated to crafting exceptional music regardless of genre, Canadian recording artist Ian Janes draws from soul, R&B, pop, jazz, and more when creating his unique sound. A multidisciplinary artist in every sense of the term, Janes is a singer, songwriter, artist, and producer, who creates music across a variety of genres. His comprehensive understanding of music is exemplified by his diverse achievements, ranging from charting in hip-hop and country music, becoming a semi-finalist in SiriusXM’s Top of The Country contest, to contributing to a JUNO-nominated blues album, despite primarily focusing on R&B/soul in his own artistry.

Janes is a six-time East Coast Music Awards nominee and brought home the Album of the Year award from Music Nova Scotia. Early in his career, Macleans magazine listed him as one of 100 Canadians to watch, predicting his enduring career as an artist, songwriter and musician.

His music has been featured on the CMT / Nickelodeon hit drama, Nashville, and has twice received a 4/5 star review from Rolling Stone in France.

Previewing his upcoming seventh studio album, Janes released “Share,” a brightly-coloured soul-pop song advocating for the removal of distractions and spending quality time with a loved one. “Share” was released on Friday, March 22 2024.

Co-written by Janes and his longtime, Grammy and Emmy-nominated writing partner Jamie Hartman (Rag’n’Bone Man, Backstreet Boys), “Share” features David Cook (Musical Director for Taylor Swift) on keys, backup vocals by fellow Canadian artist, Zamani, live drums by Howard Artis and John O’Reilly Jr., and Nicholas D’Amato on bass. Janes also produced the track and performed the guitars, clavinet, synth, drum, and percussion programming.

Janes will be live inside Toronto’s Bluebird Bar on Thursday, April 18. Tickets can be purchased at the door. “Share” is available on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
