St Patrick’s Day or “feast of the Irish saint” celebrations are taking place across the world and Canada is no exception. According to BBC: “More than 400 landmarks in more than 50 countries are turning the appropriate colour as part of Tourism Ireland’s annual Global Greening initiative.”
The day is a global celebration of Irish culture but some people just use it as an excuse to drink, and way to much. So look out for the people you’re with and please drink responsibly.
So with today being what it is, we thought it would be a perfect time to feature a Canadian group with some Irish roots.
This is Sheist aka Shiesty Callahan, Lee Fitz, and Locust of the Newfoundland group, Dirty White Boys, although Locust is currently based in Alberta. Decay was also once a member of the group—he produced the beat and is featured on one of the tracks below—but has since gone on to pursue a solo campaign.
You can find “Been Nice” and the Decay-produced “Shimmy Shimmy” (inspired by the classic ODB track “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” that it samples) below via the group’s SoundCloud profile.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
