Despite the brazen attempt on his life back at the beginning of April, Robin Banks is still releasing new material, hopefully with no plans to slow down anytime soon. And although it was filmed before that incident took place, the new video for “That’s A No Go” speaks to just that.
The records starts off with various news clips reporting on the Banks shooting and spills into a smooth and sinister sounding beat co-produced by Motivated Beatz and Dennis on the Beat.
“Can’t take my spot, that’s a no go.” Banks reaffirms his position as one of the city’s best, and let’s the opposition know that if they’re looking to go against him they better know what they’re getting into. He does this while acknowledging that at least some of the people that seem cool with him are actually hoping for his demise. “But see these n****s they just smile in my face, whole time they wanna take my place.”
