TLDR: Jackson Knox represents Ottawa on On Road, a 12-track album featuring LotisMusic, production led by T-Nyce and A&R from Courtney Uno.
A hometown anthem can be a calling card. For Jackson Knox, “Ottawa” also gives his new album, On Road, a point of origin. The Canadian capital gets its name on the tracklist, while the 12-song project further introduces an artist whose ambitions reach beyond the city limits.
Since releasing his Out Of Luck in May 2025, Knox has travelled from Toronto to Atlanta to Los Angeles and back, connecting with industry executives, veteran artists and respected producers along the way. After Grammy weekend, he channelled those experiences into the album, developing its sound between stops.
Drawing from the R&B of Bryson Tiller and Tory Lanez and the pop instincts of The Kid LAROI, 19-year-old Knox is carving out his own lane with Toronto-based indie label Nycesound Production. On On Road, he keeps the spotlight largely to himself, with LotisMusic making the album’s lone guest appearance on “Show Me.”
The production credits suggest a deliberately close circle. Nycesound Production co-founder T-Nyce handles most of the album, sharing duties with Solomon Dixon on “IDGNF” and “Only You.” “Ottawa” breaks from that pairing, with Rodney Myers and Sir Charles behind the boards.
The rollout stretched across the spring and summer. “Ottawa” and opening track “Hard to Forget” arrived April 17, followed by “Toxic” on May 15 and “Be Somebody” on July 31. In between, 4 Shooters Only released Knox’s “From The Block Performance” of “Toxic” on June 26, giving the single another platform before the album landed.
Behind the project are Canadian industry mainstays Courtney Uno and Chris Murray, who A&R’d the entire album from start to finish.
Uno’s enthusiasm for “Ottawa” comes with a clear argument: it is “a city-named track with real presence.”
Uno has also singled out the T-Nyce-produced opener, “Hard to Forget,” as the record that first secured his belief in the project. That endorsement puts the opening song in focus: the introduction to a release built around Knox, his collaborators and the city he chose to namecheck.
