International Women’s Day 2019 is quickly approaching and Rubaine Consulting Co. has an event going down in Toronto that you won’t want to miss.

On Thursday, Mar. 7, head to Revival Bar (783 College Street) for the Queens of the Game Industry Panel & Showcase.

The event is geared towards the advancement of women from marginalized committees who are hip-hop, reggae, soul, R&B, Indigenous artists/producers/DJs, thier teams and professionals working behind the scenes in the Canadian music industry.

“In celebration of International Women’s Day join us on March 7th for a night of learning, networking and entertainment!”

The industry panel will focus on hip-hop, reggae, R&B and soul genres, and will cover funding programs available, application fundamentals, music marketing trends and how to step into the world of music festivals. The panelists include Erin Lowers from Exclaim!, and Manifesto’s Executive Director Kiana “Rookz” Eastmond, along with representatives from the SOCAN Foundation, the Ontario Arts Council, URBNET Records, and FACTOR. The event is also sponsored by FACTOR (Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recording).

The performance portion of the evening kicks off at 9 p.m. and will be hosted by VibesByCheffy and DJ MelBoogie. The lineup includes Witch Prophet, Haviah Mighty, Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone, Sydanie, Aphrose, LaToya Jane, Rosie Monday, Xentury, Rootz Kizzy, Faduma, special guests and more.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are available online via Ticketscene. This is a 19+ event so make sure you have your ID on hand.
