Atlanta-based DJ and producer Christian Nilan, known professionally as Speakerfoxxx, has passed away at the age of 35.
In a statement to HipHopDX, manager Xen Lang confirmed the news:
“I can say that she has indeed passed. No one was more passionate about their craft, culture and city. It was a pleasure to know her, learn from her and work with her.”
“Speakerfoxxx was a fixture in the Atlanta music community. A touring DJ for the likes of Yelawolf, Rittz and Three 6 Mafia’s Gangsta Boo, Nilan’s solo career took off in 2011 with her mixtape Dopeboy Anthems and its follow-up Dopegirl Anthems.” – The FADER
It’s clear from the reaction on social media that a lot of people are devastated by the loss, with various members of the music community posting their condolences
The cause of death has yet to be released.
