Our team is deeply saddened and struggling to come to terms with the news of the senseless loss of our friend and colleague, Zack Noureddine.
Zack, just 25, died after an early-morning assault by three individuals at Yonge and Lola Road in Toronto. Emergency workers found Zack in distress around 12:30 this morning but he passed from his injuries this afternoon. He was returning to his car with a friend, minding his own business, when he was beaten and robbed.
Zack was an incredibly talented, honest and hard-working individual with huge aspirations. His recent move to Toronto was the next step in fulfilling his life goals and all signs indicated that he was loving every minute of it. Having made a ton of content contributions to HipHopCanada over the years, you could always count on Zack for incredible written and visual coverage with knowledgeable insight. From interviewing Kendrick Lamar and other artists, or covering Kanye West’s “Yeezus in Brooklyn” and other big events, Zack’s portfolio is nothing short of impressive. He was a hip-hop head to the core and we’ll make sure his support for the scene is not forgotten.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Zack’s family and friends. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Zack was really multidimensional and full of ideas. He only scratched the surface on what he had hoped to achieve. The 99Project featured Zack in a 15 minute video back in April 2014. It gives you a decent idea for the kind of guy he was.
Suspects still at large
“The deceased was the victim of a robbery. There are three suspects,” said Det. Jeff Allington. The suspects are described only as males in dark clothing. They fled in a light-coloured four-door sedan and remain at large. Allington said officers believe that the incident is linked to an assault in the area of Bayview and Hillsdale Avenues, but would not provide further details on the connection.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jeff Allington at 416-808-7400, extension 77398, or Detective Sergeant Kevin Leahy at 416-808-7400, extension 77405, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
