According to a new report by TMZ, “Quavo was toe-to-toe with a group of guys outside that Houston bowling alley — Takeoff and others had his back while he argued for more than 30 seconds before the shooting began.”
In a video obtained by TMZ, you can see Quavo arguing with someone, and Takeoff standing with a small group just behind him. You can hear the words “disrespect” and “basketball,” as well as someone (which could be Quavo but it’s unclear) saying “I don’t get down like that.”
The shooting occurs moments later, around 2:30 a.m., when the sound of gunfire sends the crowd scattering. The TMZ report claims there were “more than 10 shots in total.” Takeoff was shot at least once and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At a press conference earlier today, the Houston Police Department provided details on the other victims of the incident. A 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old female were hospitalized and are currently being treated.
