We recently caught up with Ottawa singer-songwriter Chrissy Spratt at the video shoot for her Carde Blanche-produced single, “Halo.”
The newly released visual—powered by director Heru Lutalo and the Lenz Studio team—came out this past Thursday and has already racked up more than 10K views. “Halo” is the third video to drop in support of Chrissy’s EP, On My Own, which came out independently in February.
“‘Halo’ is about loving someone who doesn’t feel the same for you,” explained Chrissy. “You know they’re bad for you, but you can’t help but drop everything when they call.”
The video stars Ottawa recording artist Sir Jax, who was on hand for a good chunk of the multi-day video shoot. In the video, he plays the male suitor, who Chrissy tries hard to turn her back on. Jax is currently promoting his tracks, “Spend,” and the Dillin Hoox-assisted “Never Left.”
The clip sees Chrissy and Jax connect via text messaging, and eventually they make plans to get together in person. Despite her misgivings, and making attempts to fight off his advances, she finds herself making the relationship a priority.
And the team at Lenz Studio—lead by Executive Producer Weggon Allen—did an incredible job telling the story, and portraying the essence of the dilemma at hand.
Don’t be surprised if you see Lenz Studio and Chrissy connect on more projects down the road, as she’s obviously thrilled with the work they put in:
“The team at Lenz Studio did an amazing job with my vision. I’m always nervous when it comes to working with people for the first time so I came to them with a small, simple idea. They literally took my idea and put it on steroids and the outcome was this beautiful, short-story music video. I love the fact that you can watch this visual with no sound and you can still understand what’s going on. That’s how I want my videos to reflect my music.”
Snoop Dogg and Friends Tour
In other Chrissy Spratt news, the budding singer is joining the Snoop Dogg and Friends Tour with Peter Jackson, with the first stop being tomorrow in Peterborough. She’ll also reach three other stops in Ontario with the tour including Sudbury, Huntsville, and Toronto.
