Inside Afro Nation: Exclusive with Josh Koram & Esosa Uddoh

Regarded as “The World’s Biggest Afrobeats Festival,” anticipation has been bubbling for this year’s Afro Nation, kicking off on Saturday, August 17. The 2024 festival features a stellar lineup which includes headliners like Lil Wayne, Rema, Asake, and Canada’s own PartyNextDoor.

With growing interest in Afro Nation, we decided to connect with organizers Josh Koram and Esosa Uddoh to dive deep into the festival’s rich history. HipHopCanada’s own Richniques sits down with Koram and Uddoh to discuss Afro Nation’s roots, its incredible growth, how the hip-hop scene has become an integral part of the Afro Nation experience, and the festival’s global impact on the music scene.

The two-day event is taking place at Bedrock’s Douglas Site in Detroit, Michigan, serving as the only North American stop in Afro Nation’s 2024 schedule.

“Detroit’s rich history of African American culture and its status as the birthplace of Motown and techno make it the perfect location for Afro Nation Detroit 2024. The festival offers an opportunity to celebrate the resilience and enduring legacy and to connect with Detroit’s vibrant music and artistic communities.”

Don’t miss this insightful conversation as we celebrate Afro Nation’s unique contribution to the global music landscape and its commitment to showcasing the best of Black music.
