TLDR: Over the past three weeks, Sayzee’s I Hate Mondays series continued with Weeks 8 through 10, keeping the weekly momentum strong. HipHopCanada also recently caught up with Sayzee to discuss the series, his creative approach and what’s ahead. Read the full interview here.
Over the past three weeks, the I Hate Mondays series by Sayzee has continued its steady rollout. Each Monday drop has reinforced the run’s no-promo approach, with a focus on consistency, sharp execution and a growing sense of momentum. As the series moves forward, each release adds another layer to what is shaping up to be one of the most disciplined independent runs of the year by a Canadian artist.
Week 8 brought “White On White Crime,” featuring Ayoo Bigz and produced by PHDbeats. Clocking in at eight minutes, the track leans fully into technical rapping and evolving production. Multiple beat switches give both artists room to reset and attack each section with renewed energy. Sayzee and Bigz trade verses with precision, pushing each other across every transition.
Week 9 shifted gears with “Rush Hour 2,” self-produced and featuring LA County’s 067Red. The record moves fast, with Sayzee controlling the pace while 067Red adds a G-Funk-leaning presence. The back-and-forth delivery keeps momentum high, nicely showcasing the talent of both artists. 067Red was recently featured on The Supreme Machines collaboration curated by 1000Word$.
This week, Week 10, Sayzee keeps things direct with “Do Better,” featuring Asun Eastwood and produced by Fludust. The track serves as a preview of the upcoming Blood On The Moon EP from Sayzee and Fludust. On “Do Better,” both artists lean into a grounded, focused delivery, keeping the message clear and deliberate. As a message released with the song indicates, “‘Do Better’ hints at a heavier, more refined sound from Sayzee and Fludust, where consistency meets purpose.”
Ten weeks in, I Hate Mondays continues to evolve and bring a range of different styles and sounds. But each week’s release has stood on its own while building toward a larger body of work. All ten songs can be found on Sayzee’s Bandcamp profile.
