TLDR: Brooklyn-born DJ and MC Stimulus is shaking up the Berlin music scene with genre-bending performances, high-profile collaborations, and a globe-trotting DJ career.
Brooklyn-bred and Berlin-based, Stimulus isn’t just an artist—he’s a movement. A DJ, MC, event curator, and all-around sonic architect, he’s been bending genres and flipping dance floors worldwide for years. His origin story reads like a music industry fairy tale: discovered by Mark Ronson, signed to Universal Music, and now a global fixture on five continents.
Stimulus co-founded the creative platform Swim Good, and his versatility landed him as one of the first artists featured on COLORS, the internationally renowned performance platform. He’s shared stages with J. Cole, Yasiin Bey, Erykah Badu, Gunna, and Masego, and has DJed for Rick Owens, Idris Elba, and Solange. His TEDx Talk on hip-hop was praised and shared by Jaden Smith. Stimmy, as many call him, has made multiple radio appearances on Sway In The Morning and Kiss FM; he also hosts his radio show on Apple Music.
In one whirlwind stretch of four days, Stim played Splash Festival, Rave the Planet, walked in Berlin Fashion Week, and jumped into a sold-out jazz show with Robert Glasper. His genre-fluid DJ sets blend house, hip-hop, jazz, and electronic music into seamless sonic journeys.
Joining Stimulus on his latest venture are Greg Paulus—a jazz-trained trumpeter and DJ with credits spanning from Beirut to Matthew Dear—and Taylor Bense, a producer with work on labels like Wolf + Lamb and Freerange Records.
Stimulus has moved crowds in New York, London, Paris, and Berlin with residencies at Berghain Kantine, Prince Charles, and Kater Blau. He’s also provided music for brands like Nike, Adidas, Vogue, and High Snobiety. The only question: are you ready for the ride?
You can find his latest, “4or x R3al (For Real)”—the first single off his upcoming album—on Spotify and other digital streaming platforms via Swim Good Music.
