Canadian artist Skip Waiters honours his mother’s strength & resilience with “Jah Lights”

After releasing his debut album Streams of Consciousness in March 2023, Canadian hip-hop and R&B artist Skip Waiters continues to build on his impressive portfolio. The project has accumulated over a million streams across all streaming platforms, with the Mara Jade-assisted “Therapy’” leading the charge on Spotify with over 443K streams.

Now, Skip Waiters is ready to turn the page with the first single off his sophomore LP due in fall of 2024.

“Jah Lights” was produced by Skip Waiters, the Grammy-nominated LordQuest, Davati, Kae Vox and Chris Chand. The single was mixed by LordQuest and mastered by Gabe Galluci (Sean Mendes, Johnny Orland, Amaal).

“Jah Lights” is a story about Skip Waiters’ mother reflecting on the hardships in her life while raising four kids on her own.

“She’s had to deal with trauma from being molested at a young age, all while trying to navigate an unhealthy relationship with my father. The song captures moments of acknowledging the dark times while still being able to see the light at the end. Looking back on your trials and being in awe that GOD brought you through it all.”

You can find “Jah Lights” on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms via Inspire BLVD.
