Sexy… feisty… rebellious …These are the words that represent the artist MelXdie (pronounced “Mel – X – dee”). Even at the tender age of 20, the X represents the unknown factor that she brings to everything she does, whether it be dancing, singing or just doing whatever she wants to do.
Born Melodie Young, MelXdie pours her heart out through her music. Never shy to share her thoughts and emotions, she is ready to share her music with the world. Being half Lebanese, half Peruvian and born and raised in Toronto, her music incorporates a melange of cultural influences. She is just the latest in a long line of artists emerging out of Toronto and represents her city’s emergence on the world music stage with confidence.
Following up her first two singles, the Pressa-assisted “Voulez Vous” and Tory Lanez-assisted “Summer Love,” MelXdie is back again with the banger “Girls R Better” featuring Mavado. This pop meets reggae collab merges the two genres perfectly and was released in conjunction with her release party with Stefflon Don on July 19 at Toronto’s Rebel Nightclub. Since then, the video has racked up just under 250K views on YouTube.
“Girls R Better” was produced By Christopher Birch, and the single is available on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
