National Geographic shares episode of award-winning documentary 9/11: One Day in America
It’s been 22 long, hard years since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks which killed 2,996 people. That staggering figure doesn’t even include those who have succumbed to post-9/11 illnesses like 331 members of the brave New York City Fire Department (FDNY). It’s almost the same amount of firefighters that were killed in the Twin Towers on the actual day of the attack, 343. With the 22nd anniversary of the attacks upon us, National Geopgraphic has shared another episode of their award-winning documentary, 9/11: One Day in America. The series won the News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Documentary at the 43rd News and Documentary Emmy Awards in 2022. This is Episode 2, “The South Tower.” Nat Geo posted Episode 1, “First Response, in Sept. 2022.
