Coming in advance of his new project, Me, Myself and My Thoughts, West Side Chicago up-and-comer iAmDuss has released a new single called “Long Way Home.”
The Imani-assisted record was produced by Derelle Rideout, and follows Duss’ “Ain’t No Sun” which was released at the end of February.
“Spitting his inner thoughts on paper and speaking on the challenges being in the streets, grinding and making it. The introspective versus gives IamDuss a poetic flow over the track while he spits bars and gives a lyrical visual of moving forward. The mellow mood of ‘Long Way Home’ provokes the audience to stop and listen to his message of progression and motivation.”
iAmDuss is on trend to go a long way in this industry. What started as some fun with friends, turned into an instrument of thought provoking sounds. This Chicago West Side native knew he needed to choose sides from the get go, in Chicago your either a drill rapper or a “Chance the Tapper,” and he’s an inspirer.
Not fascinated with discussing the hottest cars, clothes and you know the rest he focuses on inspiring and uplifting his listeners with every bar. His metaphors captivate your mind and make you think of yourself as something better than your current situation. This introverted MC uses his music to connect to the listeners who are on the come up by any means necessary.
In his upcoming project, Me, Myself and My Thoughts, he uses countless metaphors to describe his current mental state. If you had to describe his sound, one would say it’s at the intersection of consciousness, self-reflection and entertainment. iAmDuss believes that his music will always be something that relates to the average man, painting a picture of feelings and thoughts that actually occur in today’s society whether that’s social justice or everyday life.
