After turning heads last fall with his three-track release, Tha III Piece: Expression I, Toronto’s own Ashton Francis recently returned with the sequel. Tha III Piece: Expression II is another three-track offering which features guest appearances by Moël, K, and Dey, who featured Francis on her 2020 DSP debut, “Still Here.”

While Tha III Piece: Expression I explored themes like independence, and knowledge of self, Tha III Piece: Expression II focuses partly on Francis’ view of some of the historic events that took place in 2020.

Expression II is Ashton’s state of address on his perspective regarding major events of 2020, the trajectory of an independent artist, balancing intimate relationships, observation on the intersection of gun culture within the community and industry all told through the focus and emergence of What Matters Most.

Francis has already released two videos in support of Expression II including “Devil Is A Liar” and the Dey-assisted “Cruise.” Both were directed by Brian Gregory.

Tha III Piece: Expression II is the second EP of a three-part series. We can only wait to see how the story of expression continues to unfold. You can find the project on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify via What Matters Most.

“It isn’t music if it doesn’t provoke thought or evoke emotion.” – Ashton Francis
