Rapper Dyce Payso was stunned when his collaboration with Fatman Scoop dropped on the same day of the legendary artist’s unexpected passing, leaving the hip-hop community in shock.
As TMZ reported: “Fatman Scoop’s dedication to hip-hop culture was felt in full on his last day on Earth … the veteran hype man gave his last dying breath while performing on August 30, and had just released a clubby anthem with NYC rapper Dyce Payso hours earlier.”
Dyce teamed up with Scoop for “Let It Go,” an energetic record featuring the late legend on the hook. The song samples which samples Ray J and Lil Kim’s 2001 song, “Wait a Minute.”
“This is some tuff shit to write,” Dyce wrote on Instagram.
“Scoop I’m lost for words. We was just together a couple of weeks ago shooting our video. You said you’d fly in just for me and thinking about it now I’m so grateful that we got that time and made something so dope and crazy. Thank you for being my friend, a Big Bro, a mentor, and being apart of my music. This is my biggest record and I’m so honored and thankful that it was with you. These are the best memories of you I’ll keep forever. I promise to keep your spirit alive. RIP Fatman Scoop!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾” @fatmanscoop 💔”
