Questlove curates soundtrack for the Michelle Obama Book Tour

To kick off Michelle Obama’s anticipated BECOMING book tour, Questlove created a 3-volume soundtrack.

The Michelle Obama Musiaqualogy Vol 1. 1964-1979, Vol 2. 1980-1997, and Vol 3. 1997-2018 features decades of music from artists including including Sam Cooke, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, George Benson, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and D’Angelo

Questlove’s curated soundtrack is being played live in venues across 10 cities on the BECOMING book tour and can be streamed on Spotify and PANDORA. Her speaking tour’s next stop is in Boston on Saturday, Nov. 24.

“Life’s a little better when we live it to Questlove’s beat.” – Michelle Obama

Mrs. Obama offered this about Questlove’s playlist:

“Like a lot of people, I connect many of my memories with the songs and melodies I was listening to at the time. From the jazz and Stevie Wonder of my childhood, to Prince and Earth, Wind, and Fire as I came into my own as an adult, to Beyoncé, Janelle Monáe, and so many others who provided the stirring backbeats of my time in the White House—music has always been a defining part of who I’ve become.”

“That’s why I’m so thankful to Questove for curating these playlists and infusing them with his signature style. Life’s a little better when we live it to Questlove’s beat.”

Michelle Obama will make a special appearance on Questlove’s podcast, Questlove Supreme, on PANDORA.
