Jay Vado Previews New EP With “Got Me Like” Single

TLDR: With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we bring you the latest single from Jay Vado ahead of his forthcoming EP, Better Late Than Never, expected later this year. “Got Me Like” was produced by Lynx.

On Jan. 9, Canadian artist Jay Vado ended his hiatus with the release of “Got Me Like,” a smooth R&B single marking his first official drop in several years. The track signals the beginning of a new creative chapter as he rolls out new music ahead of a forthcoming project planned for 2026.

Rooted in R&B, “Got Me Like” carries a sexy, romantic, and chill tone, centred on themes of connection, loyalty, and intimacy. The song captures late-night energy and private moments, reflecting relationships shaped by distance, movement, and trust. It balances desire with emotional honesty, offering calm confidence rather than excess.

The production leans into a warm, understated soundscape anchored by a 12-string guitar, with frequent bass, percussion throughout, and electronic drums providing a steady, laid-back groove. The organic instrumentation gives the track a lived-in feel, allowing Jay Vado’s vocals to remain front and centre and making it well suited for late-night listening.

Produced by Lynx, “Got Me Like” bridges soulful expression with contemporary polish, positioning it comfortably within today’s R&B and urban landscape. Following its release, the single was picked up and premiered on Hot 89.9’s Traffic Jam in Ottawa with DJ PAQ, DJ T DOT, and Kenny B.

“Got Me Like” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
