Since its release, “edamame” by Vancouver’s bbno$ and Indonesian rapper and singer Rich Brian has been one of the most viewed music videos on our website. The Reggie.-directed clip is closing in on a stellar 45 million YouTube views since premiering on July 22, 2021.
Yesterday, bbno$ and Rich received some great news as it was revealed that the Diamond Pistols-“edamame” has been nominated for Rap Single of the Year at the 2022 JUNO Awards. On top of that, bbno$ is also nominated for the highly publicized TikTok JUNO Fan Choice award, going up against artists like Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Pressa, and others.
Last year, bbno$ and Yung Gravy received a JUNO nomination for their Baby Gravy 2 collaboration—eventually losing out to TOBi—and in 2020 bbno$ was nominated for Fan Choice Award and Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
The latest release to reach bbno$’s vast digital streaming catalogue is a new “edamame” remix produced by Miky Woodz. The accompanying Shiraz-directed video has already been viewed over 2.4 million times since premiering on Feb. 16. Check it out below.
The full list of 2022 JUNO nominees was revealed on Tuesday at an event hosted by CBC Music’s Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe.
