Shuka Chini: AK-SLIM and G Nako Go Global With Video for New Banger

Calgary meets Dar es Salaam in a cross-continental collab that demands attention. Rising Canadian rap phenom AK-SLIM has officially levelled up, teaming up with Tanzanian superstar G Nako for the kinetic new single “Shuka Chini”—a genre-blending, body-moving AfroSwing anthem that fuses gritty hip-hop, slick flows, and the hypnotic rhythm of Bongo Fleva.

From the jump, “Shuka Chini” wastes no time. Produced by the heavyweight trio of Daz Naledge, Veronika Rovegno, and Evans Osujaki, the track rides on a pulsating beat layered with tropical percussive elements, sharp snares, and deep basslines that are guaranteed to get you moving. It’s the kind of track that feels equally at home in a smoky club in Toronto or a sunlit street party in Zanzibar.

AK-SLIM, known for his sharp lyricism and genre-hopping versatility, brings the fire with high-octane bars in English and Swahili. Meanwhile, G Nako pours gasoline on the flame delivering his magnetic voice, signature East African swagger, and effortless delivery.

The accompanying video, shot by Visior Mufasa and edited by New Wave Visuals, is a visual feast: sun-drenched cityscapes, kinetic dance moves, and swagger-filled close-ups. It’s got the glossy grit of a global hip-hop visual, with the soul of African street culture pulsing through every frame.

And while “Shuka Chini” roughly translates to “go down,” make no mistake—this track is a come-up. It’s a statement. A declaration that AK-SLIM is stepping onto the world stage, backed by one of Tanzania’s finest.

Released via SAFI Entertainment / CapCityHipHop Inc., the single is now streaming everywhereSpotify, Apple Music, Audiomack—and gaining momentum fast.

In a year already bursting with sonic experimentation, “Shuka Chini” stands out by doing what the best global music always does: it moves you—physically, spiritually, and undeniably.
