House Party reboot coming January 2023 starring Tosin Cole & Jacob Latimore
In case you hadn’t heard, they’re messing with another classic! In 1990, iconic rap duo Kid (Christopher Reid) ‘n Play (Christopher Martin) took their fame to new heights with the release of the first House Party, written and directed by Reginald Hudlin (Django Unchained, Marshall). Along with making the The Fresh Force Crew members house holds names, the film featured an epic supporting cast which included the likes of Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Clifton Powell, the late Robin Harris, and Paul Anthony. Two more House Party movies were released in the 90’s—House Party 2 in 1991 and House Party 3 in 1994—and the Kid ‘n Play characters were also the stars of Class Act in 1992. Now, House Party is being rebooted with Stephen Glover (Donald’s bro) and Jamal Olori of Atlanta as the lead writers. It’s set to star Tosin Cole and Jacob Latimore, with support from Andrew Santino, Allen Maldonado, Karen Obilom, and more.
